SVP, Clinical Development

As Senior Vice President, Clinical Development, Shawn Rose, M.D., Ph.D., serves as a member of Magenta’s Executive Team and provides oversight for the Company’s Clinical Development Organization including the direction and execution of Magenta’s clinical development, regulatory activities, pharmacovigilance, biometrics, medical affairs, and medical writing.

Dr. Rose has more than a decade of clinical and translational research experience in multiple therapeutic areas and across all stages of development. Before joining Magenta, he was Vice President of Clinical Development at Annexon Biosciences, where he headed autoimmunity development and clinical pharmacology, was the lead pharmacovigilance clinician and established the bioanalytical sciences function. He previously held roles of increasing responsibility at Janssen and Bristol-Myers Squibb and led development of various drug candidates as well as currently approved products such as ustekinumab, guselkumab and deucravacitinib. He began his career as a Metzger Clinical Scholar at the National Institutes of Health, where he was an investigator on several clinical research protocols involving immunologic, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

Dr. Rose completed his internal medicine residency and clinical and postdoctoral research fellowship in the Division of Rheumatology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, USA.
