Bruce Blazar is Regents Professor of Pediatrics, Founding Director both of the Center for Translational Medicine and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and Vice Dean of the Medical School at the University of Minnesota. He is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, Association of American Physicians, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the National Academy of Medicine. His research has a particular focus on transplantation immunobiology, and he has directed basic and translational immunology and early phase clinical studies in blood and marrow transplantation aimed at preventing and treating graft-versus-host disease. Bruce has authored nearly 700 peer-reviewed publications. His preclinical studies have brought new drugs, antibodies, and cellular therapies into the clinic, including first-in-human cell therapy trials. Bruce received his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his medical degree from Albany Medical College.
